Without friends, love is nonexistent. Love is eternal and unconditional through the relationship with a strong friend. Friendship can be eternal through knowing someone on such a deep level that forms through trust, listening to one another, and experiencing new ways of life. It is important to find compatibility when choosing our best friends, wisely (!), through the psychological and emotional levels we know as ourselves. After all, a friendship can many times be summed up to what Aristotle quotes, “What is a friend? A single soul, dwelling in two bodies.” A true friend can be formed through one warm heart reaching out to another. Love is found through those feelings of empathy and sympathy that forms the bond between lasting friendships.
So how can love be formed through friendship? Below is a list of popular answers taken from well known books and quotes from people:
Friendship is a sweet attraction of the heart, towards the merit we esteem, or the “perfections we admire; and produces a mutual inclination between two persons, to promote each others interest, knowledge, virtue, and happiness.”- Wellins Calott
“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.” –Unknown
“Friendship involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one’s self and appreciating what is noble and loving in another.” –Thomas Hughes
“There is a magnet in your heart that will attract true friends. That magnet is unselfishness, thinking of others first…when you learn to live for others, they will live for you.” –Paramahansa Yogananda
“No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever.” –Francois Mauriac
I hope these quotes leave you with a warm heart and you are able to move forward in your friendships with others, and most importantly, your friendship to yourself!
To your lasting love in friendship,
